Riobel GS

GS is the quiet one. Riobel describes it as a harmonious balance of line — an organic shape that sits as comfortably in a minimalist bathroom as a transitional one, which is why it turns up in projects where the fixtures are not meant to be the loudest thing in the room.

It is also the most affordable route into Riobel's coaxial valve system, and that is worth understanding before you choose.

Metal plate or plastic plate

GS is one of the few Riobel collections offered with a plastic escutcheon plate as a lower-cost alternative to the metal one. The valve, the cartridge and the function are identical — only the visible plate differs.

You can tell them apart by the code:

  • TGS51, TGS23, TGS44, TGS45, TGS47 — metal plate
  • TGS71, TGS93, TGS94, TGS95, and kits TKIT393GS / TKIT1294GS — plastic plate

If the shower is the focal point of the room, take the metal. If it is a secondary bathroom or a rental, the plastic plate is the same engineering for less.

What is the difference between the metal and plastic plate versions?
Only the visible escutcheon plate. The valve, cartridge and performance are the same. The plastic-plate codes are TGS71, TGS93, TGS94 and TGS95.

Which rough-in valve does a GS trim need?
TGS51 and TGS71 take an R51. TGS23, TGS44, TGS93 and TGS94 take an R23. TGS45, TGS47 and TGS95 take an R45. TGS46 takes the 3/4" R46.

What finishes does GS come in?
Chrome and Black only.
