Bar & Prep Faucets

A bar faucet is a kitchen faucet scaled down. Same engineering, smaller footprint — sized for the secondary sink in an island, a butler's pantry or a wet bar, where a full-height kitchen faucet would loom over the counter and get in the way of the sightline. Eunoia stocks 146 from Brizo, Delta, Rohl, Perrin & Rowe, Vogt, Riobel, Grohe and Blanco.

What makes it a bar faucet

Three things: a shorter spout height, a narrower spout reach, and usually a lower flow rate. Most bar faucets stand somewhere between 9" and 14" tall against 16"–18" for a main kitchen faucet. That keeps the profile clean on an island where people sit across from the sink, and stops the faucet from blocking the view into the room.

Beyond that they behave like any kitchen faucet — you will find pull-down sprayers, single-lever mixers and bridge designs, in the same finishes as the manufacturer's full-size range.

Matching the main faucet

If the bar sink is in the same sightline as the main sink — which it usually is, on an island — buy both faucets from the same collection within the same brand. Finishes carry different names and different undertones between manufacturers, and two brushed gold faucets from two brands will read as a mistake rather than a choice. Most of the brands here offer a bar version of their flagship kitchen design for exactly this reason.

Before you order
  • Check spout reach against bowl centre. Bar sinks are small, but a spout that stops short of the drain will still splash.
  • Confirm hole count. Most bar faucets are single-hole; bridge styles need two.
  • Think about the pot filler question. If the island sink is where you fill stockpots, a pull-down bar faucet earns its keep over a fixed spout.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a bar faucet and a kitchen faucet?
Size, mostly. A bar faucet is shorter — typically 9"–14" tall against 16"–18" for a main kitchen faucet — with a shorter spout reach and often a lower flow rate. They are built for secondary sinks in islands and wet bars.

Can I use a bar faucet as my main kitchen faucet?
You can, but you probably should not. The lower spout height makes filling tall pots and washing large pans awkward, and the reduced flow means slower filling. It works in a very small kitchen with a shallow sink.

Do bar faucets come with a sprayer?
Many do. Pull-down bar faucets are common and are worth choosing if the island sink is used for food prep. Fixed-spout designs suit a bar used mainly for drinks and ice.

Should the bar faucet match the main kitchen faucet?
If both are visible from the same spot, yes — and from the same brand and collection, not just the same finish name. Finishes vary noticeably between manufacturers even when the names match.
