Most of the range here is WASHLET+. That is TOTO's designation for a toilet built to take a WASHLET, where the water supply line and the electrical cord are routed inside the toilet's skirted base rather than trailing down the back. The result looks like one seamless fixture, and there is nothing behind the bowl to clean around.

The seat is still a separate WASHLET, and it can be serviced or replaced on its own — which is an advantage, since the electronics are the part most likely to need attention over twenty years.

A small number of models here — the G5A and G5A LITE — are integrated smart toilets: genuinely one moulded unit with no separate seat at all. The most refined look, and the most expensive.

• Two-piece — separate tank and bowl. The most affordable route into a WASHLET+ set and far easier to carry upstairs. Roughly $1,250–$2,900.
• One-piece — tank and bowl moulded as one. No seam to leak or scrub, and a lower profile. Roughly $1,360–$3,800.
• Wall-hung — the bowl floats, tank hidden in the wall. You mop straight underneath and a small bathroom gains real space. Needs an in-wall carrier, an actuator plate and a wall framed to take the load. $2,860–$4,577.

Measure from the finished wall to the centre of the bolts holding your current toilet down. Twelve inches is standard. Ten and fourteen exist in older houses and need a toilet built for them — see Toilets with 10-Inch Rough-In. This is the most common ordering mistake in the category and it cannot be fixed after delivery.

Wall-hung sets are different again: the carrier is framed into the wall, so that decision belongs at the renovation stage, not the shopping stage.

Every set on this page is electric. It needs a properly grounded receptacle within reach behind the toilet — in most Canadian bathrooms, GFCI-protected. If there isn't one there now, add an electrician to the budget before you order.

If you are replacing the toilet anyway, buy the set. WASHLET+ hides the connections, the two pieces are matched, and it costs less than buying them separately.

If your current toilet is fine, a WASHLET seat on its own gives you the same warm water, heated seat and dryer for a fraction of the cost, fits most standard bowls, and installs in under an hour. The supply line and cord will be visible behind the toilet — that is the trade-off.

• WASHLET — warm-water cleansing, heated seat, and on most models a warm-air dryer and deodoriser.
• CEFIONTECT — an ultra-smooth ceramic glaze. Waste and minerals have far less to grip, so the bowl stays clean with less scrubbing.
• TORNADO FLUSH — angled nozzles that spin water around the bowl instead of sheeting it down. Cleaner rinse, less water, quieter.
• EWATER+ — electrolysed water misted onto bowl and wand between uses to inhibit build-up.

The S-number is the WASHLET grade — S2, S5, S7, S7A — rising through dryer, remote, auto open/close, self-cleaning wand and instant tankless heating. The toilet name (Drake, Aquia, Ultramax, Aurora, Glaston) is the ceramic.

What do S2, S5 and S7 mean?
The WASHLET grade. Higher numbers add a dryer, a remote, automatic open and close, a self-cleaning wand and instant tankless heating — so the warm water doesn't run out mid-use.

What rough-in do I need?
Measure from the finished wall to the centre of the closet bolts. 12" is standard; 10" and 14" require a matching toilet.
