About this collection
Shower Kits & Complete Systems
A shower kit is the whole shower in one order — valve, trim, head and, on most systems, a handheld and diverter — specified to work together so you are not matching a trim to a valve after the fact. That is the single most common way a shower purchase goes wrong, and buying a kit avoids it. Eunoia carries over 850 shower kits and systems from Baril, Delta, Riobel, Vogt, Grohe, Brizo and Perrin & Rowe, from a single pressure-balance shower head to a multi-outlet thermostatic system.
The one decision that matters: your valve type
Almost every kit here is one of three things, and choosing right is more important than choosing a finish.
- Pressure-balance. Keeps the hot/cold ratio steady when someone flushes a toilet or starts the dishwasher. It stops you being scalded, but the temperature can still drift a little. One handle, one outlet. The right answer for a straightforward shower, and the least expensive.
- Thermostatic. Holds an actual set temperature rather than a ratio, and supports several outlets running at once. If you want a rain head and a handheld and body sprays, this is what makes that work — and it means the water is the same temperature every time you step in, without hunting for it.
- Thermostatic + pressure-balance. A combined valve with separate temperature and volume control. The largest group in this collection, and the usual choice for a well-specified main bathroom.
If you are replacing a single shower head with a single shower head, pressure-balance is enough. The moment a second outlet is involved, go thermostatic.
How many outlets, and how you switch between them
Kits are sold by the number of functions the valve can feed — commonly one, two or three. A diverter sends the water to one outlet at a time; a volume control lets you run two at once and set each independently. If the idea is a rain head overhead and a handheld for rinsing, you want to know which of those two you are buying, because a diverter cannot run both.
Renovating without opening the wall
Retro-fit kits — Grohe's in particular — are designed to work with an existing rough-in, so an outdated shower can be modernised without tile work. Shower columns from Brizo do the same thing differently: the whole system mounts on the surface of the wall and feeds from the existing supply. Both are worth knowing about before you commit to demolition.
For everything else, check whether the kit includes the in-wall valve body or is trim-only. If it is trim-only, the valve is in Shower Rough-In Valves & Parts, and it must be the same manufacturer and series. If you are working with a shower that already exists, Shower Components & Trim Kits is the collection you want.

Frequently asked questions
What is included in a shower kit?
Typically the valve, the trim (handles and escutcheon), and a shower head — with a handheld and diverter on larger systems. Some kits are trim-only, with the in-wall valve ordered separately. The product page states what is included.
Thermostatic or pressure-balance — which do I need?
Pressure-balance is enough for a single shower head. Choose thermostatic if you are running more than one outlet at a time, or if you want the water to arrive at exactly the temperature you set every time.
Can I replace my shower without removing the tile?
Sometimes. Retro-fit kits are built to work with an existing rough-in, and surface-mounted shower columns feed from the existing supply. Send us a photo of what is there now and we will tell you whether either will work.
Can I use one brand's trim with another brand's valve?
No. Trim is engineered to a specific valve body from the same manufacturer, and often to a specific generation of it. Keep the whole system within one brand.
What does a diverter do?
It sends water to one outlet at a time — rain head or handheld, not both. If you want to run two outlets simultaneously, you need a volume control rather than a diverter.
